It is day 5 of Cycle 2 on The 17 Day Diet. I have broken the diet two times in these 5 days. To a wonderful 3 pound gain. ARRGGGHHHH I have gotten back down to 142.2 which is still a 1.2 from the cycle 1.
I am a stress eater, and then on top of it it is hard to stay on track with Cycle 2. I found that I am not alone I found a blog post entitled “How Do I Stay On Track on Cycle 2 With Too Many Choices?” on the 17 Day Diet Blog. The answer to this question is in a blog post under the category Cycle 2.
If you find that you may not have the willpower to stay on track during Cycle 2, consider having two Cycle 1 days, then one Cycle 2 day, and so on. In the end, this may make it a bit easier for you to acclimate to the structure of Cycle 2 and get you prepared for Cycle 3. – 17 Day Diet Blog
This is a good idea for me, however, it is not the only reason I got derailed. Stress messes me up on so many levels, and it is here. When you have a blended family, that equals ex’s, half siblings, step siblings, ex’s spouses, etc.. When something goes wrong in one of the ex’s homes, it trickles in to my home. It affects our children. My husband has a boy and girl, Ethan is 17 and this is his senior year. Sunnie is 16. They have 4 half siblings Tori, Eli, Colton, and Jolee. Tori, Eli, and Colton are here in town and unfortunately we never get to see them they live with their dad. Jolee is in California with Sunnie and Ethan’s mom. They range in ages 8 mos to about 7 years old. Madeline 19 and Makenna soon to be 14 are mine, they have a step brother Tony who is about 15 and a half brother Roman 8 who is four months older then Dallice, the “ours” in our family. Which leads to her being completely confused a rant for another time. All of our kids younger siblings are welcome anytime, it’s not like I am going to steal the kids.
So needless to say from how I preferenced this one of the ex’s is having trouble and it is affecting one set of our kids, which is trickling down to all of us. When I stress focusing on me doesn’t happen, what little focus I give to me.
This was more of a rant then an update, sorry.

Aww sounds like you have lots on your plate. And wow talk about a blended family! I think in times like this it’s important to remember that taking time for yourself really does help everyone around you. If you exercise and meditate, or read or whatever you need to do to calm down you won’t be so stressed out, and will be able to handle the stress easier, I’m sure everyone would benefit from you being less stressed!

Oh that Cycle 2 is a tough one. I love carbs so much I lost control on Cycle 2 its like I could not handle them being added back in I went carb loony toones. I really need to give the 17 Day Diet another go.
Looks like you need to be more disciplined with your eating habit. Being a stress-eater is one of the factors that greatly affects your diet plans. You need to work more on this habit.
