My before picture of 147.4 pounds

Today is day one of me starting my weight loss journey with the 17 Day Diet! My first goal weight is 130, and I am guessing that I am starting at 146. I forgot to weigh myself this morning before I ate. Oh I guessed wrong 147.4 is what the scale says at 3:30 pm.  My second goal weight is 120.  I was actually suppose to kick this off in October with my Barre3 DVD.

You can grab your copy here off of Amazon:

Not to mention all kinds of accessories, like this cookbook caught my eye today for cycle 1:

However, if you are like me you can’t just get the starter kit for anything! I had to have the cookbook and workbook. But in hindsight I did not need them, so stop right there just get the book so you can understand the diet.

You may choose to get the 17 minute video, however, with Pinterest and YouTube I am sure you can find something to do for 17 minutes of exercise.  But if not…

I started my morning off with lemon water, two eggs and salsa, and my snack was a Pink Lady apple. Lunch was chicken with artichoke hearts and tonight dinner is chicken lettuce tacos.

What I can eat on cycle 1 which is the first 17 days:

Fish (I am so not a fish eater):
Salmon, canned or fresh
Sole
Flounder
Catfish

Canned light tuna in water

I will only eat Tilapia and the Tuna. The tuna is pushing it to it has to be in a salad with pepper, olive oil, and basalmic or I won’t eat it!

Poultry:

Chicken breasts
Turkey breasts
ground turkey, lean
Eggs (2 eggs = 1 serving)
Egg Whites (4 egg whites = 1 serving)

Vegetables:

Artichoke
Aritchoke hearts
Asparagus,
Bell Peppers, green, orange, red, and yellow
Broccoli
Brussel sprouts
Cabbage
Carrots
Cauliflower
Celery
Cucumbers
Eggplant
Garlic
Green beans
Green leafy vegtables (beet greens, turnip greens, collard greens)
Kale
Leeks
Lettuce, all varieties
Mushrooms
Okra
Onions
Parsley
Scallions
Spinach
Tomatoes
Watercress

Low Sugar Fruit 2 servings daily:

Apples
Berries, all types

Healthy Fats and Probiotics:

Olive oil no more then 2 tablespoons
Flaxseed oil
1/4 of an Avocado a day
2 tablespoons of Almonds

There is more like condiments etc, but I just wanted you to see that you are not deprived in anyway for these 17 days!

Tomorrow I will probably make a video.  I am planning my menu for the week and it will be more interesting then today’s consumption.  I am also, going to New World Media Expo on January 6-8 so I will be packing my lunches and snacks so I can stay on track.

Now I just need to get in my 17 minutes of exercise.

    Hi Eleanor,
    Goood luck with the diet!
What an odd number, 17 – is there any explanation behind that number, or is it just picked to grab attention? (it caught mine!)
    Cheers,

Thank you Gordon, 17 is the number of days each of the four cycles of the diet lasts. There is something significant about that number of days and your body that when the way you are eating your body keeps burning the fat. I think the Doctor that wrote the book would be happy to know that

  3. Do you do any workouts or running? I have been running for 7 months and have lost weight and tomed at the same time. Check out my blog post here on how I did it.
