I am so happy that it worked out! If you follow me, you may have noticed I was going to have to sell my ticket to Bloggy Boot Camp. The reasons now don't matter because of the negativity it would bring to the surface for me. All I know is I made it, and I have to thank Billie BJ Hillier and Wendy Walker Cushing for rearranging and rearranging so I could go. So at the butt crack of dawn Billie had us up and ready to head on out!
There are so many wonderful people I met, that will be a blog post in itself . But first and foremost before I get into the recap I must thank Tiffany Romero and Francesca Banducci for all their hard work and a wonderful event.
I did take extensive notes, however, I don't feel it is fair to share them in their completion. I feel this way for several reasons, but I will only share two with you.
1. I paid to be there just like the other bloggers, my ticket and travel expense. You would of had tons of fun networking.
2. I figure if I tease you with enough good tips aka the appetizer, you will wonder what the main meal was and make an effort to go to a blog conference. This will only benefit you and as you read my post recap you will see why.
So let's get started with Bloggy Boot Camp Phoenix Friday Recap!
The keynote was delivered by @VeryMissy and was entitled:
“What Brands are Looking for and Asking from A PR and Blogger Perspective”
Missy gave us a peek into the minds of brand managers. These are the agencies that work with bloggers on a regular basis. These brand managers are our contact to get into certain brands.
This statement from her was tweeted out by @SITSGirls and it says it all:

What are brands looking for in bloggers? Storytelling they want the bloggers that will tell the best story about their brands. Brand managers want content curation and they want to create the best content.
As a blogger you are considered an important influencer. You are part of what PR firms are doing and thinking about. You put out the snacks so people can participate in social snacking. People like bite sized information like pictures and videos. Why? Because it is all about the pictures, the videos, the content that can be shared socially.
One point Missy brought out that was priceless: You are your own brand and you need to look at how you are measuring yourself. Having your Google Analytics in place and knowing you Social Media reach is key. Why? Because Brands want everything to be measured. You are in the business of selling your brand so the more you can tell brands what you are doing and how influential you are, you will be able to build a strong relationship and help them get to know you.
To me this means when another social network comes out, it is not the time to say “not another one”. It is the time to test the waters and be a pioneer in the network. New networks do not have the ability to scale. Keeping your eye on what is new is very important. The reason being is that brands want to be part of the new but still want to know your reach.
The bigger your brand is the better.
Opportunistic – Brands love these that are just happenstance.
We should never be afraid of anyone else's success. – Tiffany Romero
Up next was Kim Buyers – 5 Secrets To Building A Successful Business From The Ground Up. I am only going to share the secrets not the how to accomplish them. You just had to be there for it!
Secret 1: Do what you Love, not like, Love there is a difference
Secret 2: The plan, have one
Secret 3: Value Yourself
Secret 4: Don't be shy and don't be afraid of no
Secret 5: There is nothing better than the real you
Oh I guess I can share on of Kim's personal lessons learned: Follow your instinct – it's a gift
If you know someone is going to be difficult follow your gut and it is ok to rethink and change things around. -Tiffany Romero
Do not engage with people who are not as happy as you are for your getting a gig or you not feeling happy for another getting a gig. – Tifanny Romero
I love how Tiffany asked what money smells like and then answered:
Channing Tatum and now he is going to be even hotter now that he is going to be a dad.
Up next was Gigi Ross and she always delivers the goods in her presentations. At least the two times I have seen her present both times at a Bloggy Bootcamp. Her topic: The Smart Girls Guide to Killer Sponsored Posts
Gigi has a blog post and her slides for her presentation on her site. So you are really going to get the bare bones picture of her rockin' presentation here.
Sponsored posts should be the showcase not the red headed step child. We should knock them out of the park.
Be a yardstick of quality some people aren't used to an environment where excellence is expected – Steve Jobs
Gigi's favorite quote is below and she says this requires having balls and you have to grow a set of balls if you don't have them.
“Fortune Favors The Brave.”
BEFORE YOU SHUT THE DOOR … LOOK FOR A WINDOW, there is always an opportunity to develop something from nothing.

Ok I was feeling like I was being a little mean so I have embbeded her SlideShare.net here:
Yes there where two more sessions on this day but, why would you want to ever invest in going to a blog conference if I shared every bit of my notes with you.
