Thank you to @FordWarriorsinPink for sharing the inspiring stories of their Warriors, and sending us Ford Model of Courage Tina Herold. I visited her fan page and found a video interview of her on CBS on the Talk, so those of you who did not get to experience her vibrance and be inspired by her and Cheryl perkins watch this video.

Laurie Turk – @tipjunkie shared with us her Top 10 blogging success tips
Have one purpose.
Some people dream of success… while others wake up and work hard at it. If you can solve a problem you will make money.
Then she recommended this book:
The above mentioned will be the only items from her session I will share. She truly opened my eyes to several things that I definitely already knew but was not implementing. She delivered so much content, I think her presentation was my favorite.
In between speakers @TiffanyRom basically told us to get over ourselves and make sure that people can contact you via your website and a contact form does not count as an email address. Her reasoning? What if she was trying to reach out to you personally for a sponsored post. If she had to play detective or hide and seek I am sure she would leave. Quite frankly I would probably do the same.
Cynthia Wheeler – @napwarden spoke about Great Blog Design
These statements she made here are so true:
If you have site that looks good people are more likely to come back to your site. If its a personal blog then its about you.
Cynthia shared this site and in her words: Adobe Kuler is your friend. I think I heard her mention that the site would be down until the end of this month.
She also shared a plugin for WordPress that will allow you to have beautiful video galleries on your site called TubePress.
Trina Finton – @GamingAngel Gadgets and Apps to make your Blogging Life Easier
- Write about event while you are at event
- Janetter twitter desktop application
- Mobile tweetcaster
- Know your analytics
- Google analytics
- Twitter Analytics
- Skillcrush.com technology for women and terms
Tiffany and Fran made everyone exit their comfort zones and network! The first 4 sessions and at lunch we had assigned seating. I know for a fact because of this, I walked away with more new contacts then I would of if I kept hanging with my Vegas Girls. Hey, I love you girls, but we need to add to our circles.
Inspiratioin2 wisdom to fuel your dreams
Next you will find some of my favorite random statements that I jotted down in my notes from the session “Business of Blogging” with @TiffanyRom @KludgyMom and @TipJunkie.

Figure out what you are not paying attention to, and pay attention to it.
Know your sell out price is….
Always ask brands this question “How are you working with bloggers?” So you can learn the steps to become brand partners with them.
Write down your wishlist of 10 brands you want to work with.
Office hours – establish them!
Family needs – keep life in balance and create balance in your life.
Always ask if there is a budget attached to projects, if the project doesn't fit or work for you.
1. Find / refer a friend who it may be a fit for, share the blog love.. (this part was me.)
- Always pay it forward, if you cant do it let someone else do it.
2. Take a bad pr pitch and turn it into what you want to do, I don't want to do this but …..
3. Cross sell them your services
Your personal blog is your portfolio.
Two is a partnership and three is a problem, you need to own your stuff.
Own the domain of any project you are going to do.
Three is a problem, two is a possibility.
You don't owe someone 50% for showing up.
Have a media kit that you don't use.
Know thy self:
1. Who are you online and offline and who is your audience
2. What do you have to offer a brand
3. Where will your sponsored content live
4. Why are you worth the investment
5. How often are your readers open to sponsored content.
Best way to get attention from brands is to blog about them.
5 successful pitch strategies:
1. Brevity is welcome in email
2. Media kits are useful phone calls are better
3. Switch it up email phone email
4. Figure out how to be a brands hero
5. Never bet against yourself
Have your tool kit ready:
- About me
- Writing samples
- Links to appearances – bragging rights, that is what I am calling them.
There was so much wonderful information that was shared during the day, but I am leaving it out. Why? I want to encourage you to pay attention to live conferences and attend them. There are so many benefits to attending them. Swag is cool but the “Education” you will receive, not to mention the new connections and partnerships is priceless.
All of us where treated to our delight to a fabulous wine tasting at the end of the day with #Mirassou Winery. In true Vegas “Glitz and Glamour” us local Vegas girls totally posed for our two minutes of fame!
