Ask any blogger or marketer what they’re biggest struggle is and the answer you’ll probably get is “more traffic.” Good traffic is essential to building an email list, making sales, filling up your coaching programs and increasing your site revenue.
But how do you get this traffic? It’s tempting to consider ads but if you aren’t careful, you might wind up with visitors that do nothing for your sales and growth. SEO is important but can take years to build up. While it’s an important part of your marketing strategy, it’s not the main thing.
Read on for some good traffic boosting options…
Try Guest Posting
Every marketer needs fresh content, all the time. There’s never enough. And that’s where you can help. When you guest post on other blogs, you’re really “borrowing” their traffic. But don’t get lazy about your content submissions though. You can’t just recycle old content and send it out. To get the best results out of curating your content, keep these in mind:
Create custom content designed with your host’s unique audience in mind.
Provide stellar value with actionable ideas and strategies that can’t found everywhere else.
Infuse your personality so those new to you will instantly connect with you.
Give your new readers a compelling reason to click through to your website or blog for more information.
Find a Joint Venture Partner
If you don’t have a list yet, no worries! Here’s a quick way to “borrow” from someone else’s list to get your own email list going. Just schedule a free event, like a webinar with a partner. Here’s how you do it:
You’ll create a compelling, free training which leads naturally to your excellent, low-cost, no-brainer product.
Install an affiliate tracking system.
My preference is aMember, then offer your best affiliates a higher percentage of profits in exchange for co-hosting your webinar and bringing their traffic along for the ride which leads to increased exposure for you.
This helps both of you. You’ll gain the traffic while your affiliate makes more money. Just be sure you have a good funnel in place so that your new list members can benefit from all that you have to offer.
Look for Interview Opportunities
One great way to enhance your expert status and bring more traffic back to your site is by getting yourself on the interview circuit. Authors and movie stars go on a speaking circuit to promote their latest movie or book in front of new people, and you as a coach or service provider can also do the same. All you have to do is answer questions about what you already know.
Don’t expect invitations from Oprah or Jimmy Fallon, but there’s lots of opportunities out there for coaches and consultants in every niche you can think of.
Look for interview and speaking opportunities on:
Begin by reaching out to your colleagues as well as to podcast and blog hosts you most admire. Let your friends, business associates and list know that you’re looking for speaking opportunities.
And even if you don’t yet have a list of your own, it’s easy enough and fun to kick start your audience growth simply by making yourself available for these types of opportunities. Each guest post, podcast interview and webinar is another chance to get in front of a whole new market, so you’ll want take advantage of it!
