Relationship Marketing With Your Email List is one of the next things you want to take place on your blog site. Using an autoresponder like Aweber that will provide you with an html optin form.
Email addresses are currency, even direct sales consultants will testify to the power of their email lists. As a former direct sales consultant, I can tell you that when I would email my list regarding a sale or special I was having the result would usually be a few sales.
The same thing applies to businesses, a week ago I went into Big 5 Sporting Goods and while I was waiting for the item I was purchasing to come to the front the clerk invited me to give her my email address so I could get a 10% discount and future coupons to shop at Big 5.
Before I get to a question I have for you, my biggest pet peeve and it could be a big rant, but I will behave.
“Just because I gave you my business card with my email address, does not give you permission to manually add my email address to your autoresponder!”
Invite me and if I choose to opt in I will. A simple it was nice to meet you, I would like to continue building our relationship by extending an invitation to you join my list.
Enough of that now on to my question: If you are planning on doing any internet marketing at all are you good at building relationships?
I am sure you may have heard this term or if not get use to hearing it:
“The money is in your email list”
There is a key point left out in that statement. I say you will find that the money is in the relationship you have with your list.
You can make money with your list a few ways, such as promoting your own products or introduce them to products you are promoting as an affiliate.
The above mentioned are a couple of ways I make money from my blog.
I wrote a recap post about making money with your blog from NMX 2013 featuring David Risley and just so we are clear your list is a huge part of your blog. I am determined this year to do as David said and I want you to be right there with me!
Stop being afraid of your email list and not marketing to your list.
To end this post I want to share two things I know will benefit myself and you when building out lists this year.
1. Consistency – People know they can count on those who are consistent. When you are consistent with your list, they will start to look forward to your next email, especially if you are providing value.
2. Provide Value – You don't always have to be selling something to your list. Maybe you just came across a new service online like Reachli and know your list could benefit from getting an account. Did you learn something new? A great example would be a new change in Facebook. Send out fun tips based on what you specialize in (I am going to be implementing this soon). Besides it is better to give then receive.
Ok that is it for now, will be sharing a few fun things about Aweber this week like:
Creating web forms
and Making more money with Aweber.
So go get your account at Aweber and also make sure to sign up as an affiliate for them as well. Why you ask, wouldn't you like the service to be free eventually? Yes it is nice to have Aweber pay you to use their service, just sayin…
