Yes you read that title right, but just in case you did not believe what you read: Stop Using Rapid Crush's Defunct Software Already, Just Stop you are losing money! Stop using Easy Redirect Script, WPTwin, bascically 80% of their software.
If you are experiencing a lot of my links not working, it is because I have decided to go cold turkey and just cut them loose.
Let's get a few details about me out of the way:
- I am not a super affiliate by any means, but I do make sales.
- I was one of the biggest cheer leaders for Rapid Crush, Wilson use to say if you want something on the internet tell Eleanor, it will be all over Twitter, etc… (not a word for word quote)
- Rapid Crush was my favorite affiliate program because they use to care, they use to have the best support desk online.
- I am so sorry if my referral to their products has cost you money, I am right there with you, doesn't justify it at all.
Do you want to know why I am raging? There are so many reasons why IDK where to start.
But the first and foremost, reason is that I do not know how long my affiliate links where directing traffic to white pages, or how much Google has penalized me because of this. You see Rapid Crush did a band aid update to Easy Redirect Script and did not tell any of their long time ERS customers. If they did I would like to see the proof. No one could possibly know how much this cost me in affiliate commissions, or being cookie'd to an affiliate program for future affiliate commissions.
I noticed this problem when I went to update my resource page for Selling on Amazon. This is when I logged into the download area of Easy Redirect Script and noticed there was an update to the software.
The NEW install tutorial video for ERS walked me through an upload, I am not super tech savvy but I can FTP and follow video tutorials.
The next step in this process when it does not work is to email their “World Renowned Support Desk” as I have done in the past, submitting a ticket to the help desk I knew what they would ask for so I provided all the logins. Logins included: FTP info, Easy Redirect Script admin login, and my hosting login.
Yes, I know that is a lot of info to blindly trust them with. But, this is Rapid Crush my favorite affiliate program to promote, the company with the “World Renowned Support Desk,” you know the affiliate program I referred people to. People who trusted me and where looking for ways to make money online and software to solve their immediate problems.
PEOPLE WHO TRUSTED ME BECAUSE I EXPLICITLY TRUSTED RAPID CRUSH AND USE THEIR PRODUCTS TO!
Software like Easy Redirect Script that was suppose to:
Not only cloak and protect your affiliate links but it beautifies them. I mean because “Ugly links get no link love.”
Free url shorteners are banned all over the place and most email servers black list them?
Suppose to save you from adding another plugin to your WordPress blog to slow it down.
But most important of all you could take charge of your own links. With Easy Redirect Script you would be able to set up SEO safe redirects, stealth pages, stealth redirects, splash page redirects, and more… You would be a “REDIRECTS SUPER STAR.”
Software that was suppose to increase my affiliate commissions by protecting my affiliate links, but now cause me to lose income “money” by sending my affiliate links to white pages and then they have the nerve to ask me to but my site at a security risk, we will get to that in a minute.
I digress let's get back to “The World Renowned Support Desk” where I submitted a help ticket. I told them it might be user error on my part (I really need to stop taking the blame for things that obviously not my fault) and provided them with the essential info as stated before.
The responses I got?
Can you tell us what was the last update that was done? Also, can you try to downgrade the PHP version lower than your current version and see if that will let you upgrade to the newest version and if your links will work.
Let me know how it goes.
Umm really? My response:
I was trying to update ERS to 4.10 the latest that was done was 4.06 I am not technical enough to be playing in my hosting nor do I understand the process of downgrading the PHP version lower .
Side note: Downgrading your .PHP is a security risk, um I think the tech genius behind ERS knows this. There next response:
Your hosting company will assist you in downgrading the PHP. You may contact them directly. Let them downgrade it and once its downgraded please try to update the ERS to version 4.10 and let us know if that works.
So the support for Rapid Crush has really gone down hill this has forced me to purchase pretty links and it will take me a while to get every link fixed on my website. So much for having the best support desk.
So sorry for the inconveniences, we simply are not authorized to work with your hosting company. A simple call to them will get your account downgraded to the other version of PHP. Once you get that done we can work on uploading the files for you and see if we can get the links back in good working order.
Let us know once the call is made, if avoidable we would like to help so there is no need to purchase a bunch of pretty links!
But even with my limited knowledge I know that downgrading .PHP is a security risk and I know the boys are off to bigger better things but a heads up to when they are upgrading ERS would be nice to.
All this tells me is that I need to start getting links I control from WordPress.
Not to mention that most hosting companies will not roll back the .PHP hmmm I wonder why? Security Risk…
Let's just say for arguments sake the .PHP version they wanted me to downgrade to was 5.6.40 which is OLD and not secure, and magically everything works on that version. Again I am not tech savvy but I do know my .PHP version is way newer then the 5.6 version.
Shame on me for waiting this long and trusting that they had all of their customers backs that are still using software they produced like Easy Redirect Script. I mean surely a Multi – Million dollar earning company could afford to update it's software? The least they could of done is sent out an email saying we are not going to keep this software up to date here are a few alternative products to use. Fair warning at least right? But no now all of my affiliate links on my website, social media profiles go to white pages…
Sorry, not sorry Rapid Crush, what the heck happened Jason “McBrainy” Fladlien?

I realize I did not give you a solution to this problem if you are reading this and need one. I am in the process of changing over to Pretty Links. Unfortunately, their affiliate program is closed. But my friend Karon Thackston has a link you can use, isn't it pretty:
The crickets are chirping! Funny not funny they did get back to me again and the issue is resolved. Basically I ended up in support with someone who thought that since downgrading .PHP worked for someone else that it was the “Defacto Fix All” which it wasn't.
Then being the control freak and sometimes logical female that I am, (I did say sometimes.) I wanted my affiliate links to be secure. I mean who wants to click on links that are not secure. My domain name for my affiliate links is on a SSL Certificate, however I learned this:
If you try to show NON-secure content inside of a SECURE frame, it will not work.
Oops Eleanor… Forcing HTTPS is like trying to force a square into a circle. Meaning if the affiliate program I am promoting has links that are not secure then my trying to force the issue is like trying to lure bees with vinegar. Yeah not going to happen!
I still say you should look for other options. Here is the remainder of the support conversations to make sure that I am being completely fair here:
Hi Eleanor – totally get that! Let me check with Dan on our team and see what he has to say about this.
Did you try reinstalling the files just to see if that would get it working again?
Hi Eleanor, me again 🙂
I spoke with XXX on our team here and he said lets skip the PHP thing. (not needed)
He has logged into your FTP area and checked on the files, here is what looks like happened.
Most likely HTTPS was recently added on the domain and it is being forced so that all the URL's are trying to call https pages – when they were set up to call http: originally.
We tested this theory with this link:
We changed the redirect to add an HTTPS and it started working again.
XXX suggests, removing the forced security so all the links will start working again immediately. Then editing the links to add in the “HTTPS” then test them to make sure they work and then adding the forced HTTPS back on the domain.
Does this sound do-able to you?
Here is another example he wanted to show you:
This redirects to https://eleanorluvs.com/abcbootcamp
which is an HTTPS
but have a look at the train of redirects that happen after it calls:
(They had included a screen shot for me to see what was happening)
That top URL is the one entered into ERS (an aff link)
Before it goes to that final HTTPS url, it actually first redirects to the HTTP version
So it goes HTTPS -> HTTP -> HTTPS
And then chrome – NO – because your site is https, and those redirects above travel through an http link
Lets try this route of removing the forced https and fix the links and that should solve the issue.
ME and my Circle Square brain:
Ughh then they will show as insecure links and who wants to click on an unsecured link idk I really give up.
Thanks so much for getting back, we are only suggesting to un-force the SSL temporarily while you are going through the process of fixing the aff links. Then adding it back on once links were fixed.
Please let us know if you need any further assistance.
Frustrated Diva Me:
I will remove it I consulted with someone and they explained that yes it is right to think that no one wants to click on insecure links and making sure it is secure is what people are doing however some of the affiliate programs affiliate links are unsecure if you look at the nanacast links for Rapid Crush they are not secure all though your domain name is. That you can not force a secure link in a iframe. So the programs I am promoting in ERS that have SSL like Cindy Bidar those work versus the ones with out secure links so it does not matter what I do even though my affiliate url Eleanorluvs is secure. Just waiting for a few million to drop from the sky so I can just disappear 🥴
I am over it all
Ok sounds good, and no need to disappear! You are a fantastic person and the world needs you just the way you are!
The sellingfamily links is one that wasn't working since the aff link in their aff center that they give out is not https (even thought their site is) – so you may find some work and some don't. It sucks, I get it.
We are still using our webfini link and I have not added https yet and we seemd to be doing ok with it. Whether that is right or wrong – I am just sharing with you what I am doing with ours.
Diva Tantrum Throwing Me:
lol Awesome until I through a Diva Tantrum like 5 year old Beyonce….. Thank you 😉
Always awesome – and I may have a tantrum or two up my sleeve as well some days they just pop right on out! LOL.
Have a great rest of your week!!
So there you have it, as of right now all my affiliate links work but yes I am slowly moving them all over to pretty links and also trying to come up with other options.
